CALL FOR PAPERS
Biometric measurements are acquiring paramount importance in many security and medical applications, not only from a theoretical point of view but also from an industrial perspective. The 5th IEEE Workshop on Biometric Measurements and Systems for Security and Medical Applications (BIOMS 2014) aims to present and discuss various technological, methodological and application issues in areas concerning, but not limited to, advanced sensors, signal processing techniques, patter recognition approaches, systems and applications.
Papers are solicited on all aspects of biometric measurements and systems, specifically for security and medical applications. All submissions must clearly present the novelty of their work, and report results on publicly available databases when possible.
The authors of selected papers may be invited to submit an extended and enhanced version to IET Biometrics.

Details for the submission and all information concerning the symposium and the Award can be found at the workshop web site at http://bioms2014.di.unimi.it/. Acceptance/rejection will be emailed by 20 July 2014 8 August 2014. The final manuscript is due by 31 August 2014 7 Semptember 2014.
Submission implies willingness to register at the conference, pay the registration fee and present the paper in person. Papers will be included in the proceedings only if at least one author will register and pay the registration fee by 31st August, 2014 (member and non-member fees only are acceptable to this purpose) - no exceptions. Papers included in the proceedings will also be included in the IEEE Xplore digital library only if the paper will be presented in person at the conference by one of the authors. If an author covers more than one paper with her/his registration to guarantee inclusion in the proceedings, she/he must pay a 50€ surcharge for each paper in excess of one.
